Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 4G Exynos, Switches to Snapdragon

Attorneydiction.com, – Samsung launched its own killer-type flagship device, the Galaxy S20 FE, last year with two SoCs: the self-developed Exynos 990 for the 4G version and the Snapdragon 865 for the 5G model. Samsung stopped making the Galaxy S20 FE 4G with Exynos technology and switched to Snapdragon

We’ve recently seen the Galaxy S20 FE 4G with a Snapdragon chip take the rounds in benchmarks, and now generally reliable leaks say this is basically the future. As in, Samsung will stop manufacturing the Galaxy S20 FE 4G with Exynos technology and will use the Snapdragon “865+” for this model.

It would be an attractive 180, but surely many will feel justified by this decision, given the performance and battery life and the quality of the delta camera between the two chipsets.

Last year there was quite a big and nasty controversy on this topic, especially regarding the non-FE S20 line, where you couldn’t get both chip options as Samsung decided regionally which one to choose with.

At least with FE, you want the Snapdragon variant, you get the 5G version, and you’re good to go. Turns out, you don’t even have to do that, because all Galaxy S20 FE units will have Snapdragon at their core. If these rumors come up, which we don’t know yet, don’t forget your grain of salt on this one.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE with the Exynos 990 SoC could be replaced by a model with Snapdragon 865+, according to anonymous, which leaked that Samsung would stop the production of the Galaxy S20 FE with the Exynos 990 SoC.

The phone was launched in 4G and 5G variants in September 2020, where the 4G variant has Samsung’s own Exynos SoC and is the only variant to enter the Indian market. 5G variant is powered by Snapdragon 865 SoC and it was just released here.

The Exynos 990 powered by the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, despite being a good phone, received a lot of criticism for its poor performance compared to its Snapdragon 865 counterpart.

We found the phone to get hot during use and offer disappointing battery life. Now it looks like Samsung is discontinuing this Exynos variant and according to Ice Universe’s secret tweet, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE with Snapdragon 865+ will replace the Exynos 990 SoC model.

There is already a Galaxy S20 FE powered by Snapdragon 865 with existing 5G connectivity and it was also recently launched in India. According to the secret title tweet, there may be another variant that comes with a slightly more powerful Snapdragon 865+ SoC.

For now, it is not clear if Samsung will launch this Galaxy S20 FE with Snapdragon 865+ which is rumored in all regions or will remain exclusive to certain regions.***
